Project design & development

MYS will arrange initial meetings with designers and shipyards to prepare a preliminary specification, basic details package and review shipyard proposals. This will include the profile, general arrangement and detailed specification of which enables us to develop a realistic schedule and pricing.

Consultation on bidding and contracting

MYS and the owner will visit the selected shipyards and evaluate their proposals for projected specifications, project scheduling, project management and pricing. MYS and the appointed legal team will negotiate to finalise the contract terms and payment schedules with the shipyard.

Project planning and review

Our head of construction will regularly hold meetings with the shipyard to review all schedules and build plans to limit any delays that may occur. MYS has developed a successful online reporting system with controlled access for project managers, captains and owners via our own MYS portal.

Building survey and onsite supervision

Your MYS project manager will always be at hand to act as your intermediary between the various parties. This liaison aims to ensure that every element of the project is handled efficiently and to the highest standards, that all your requests are met and that the impacts on the cost or schedule and not compromised. All of the MYS team have captained, crewed and run large yachts for more than 25? years and are expertly placed to liaise and monitor every aspect of your build project.

• Representation of clients’ interests and vision during build process
• Facilitation and mediation between design, engineering teams, shipyard, surveyor and classification societies.
• On-going onsite reviews that the construction process is meeting its contractual specifications.
• Consultation in technical matters affecting the build, as well as making build related decisions that are called for during the build.
• Change order management and monitoring
• Review and evaluation of progress against the milestone payment requirements

Sea trails, delivery and acceptance

The sea trials and commissioning phase is an essential and exciting stage in the development of the build process. Mega Yacht Solutions plays a key role in the sea trial stage, with our depth of technical knowledge enabling us to identify and resolve any last minute issues that could arise. No matter how detailed the issue, we’ll have our experts analyse everything from the performance through to the noise and vibration levels. MYS will ensure your yacht is in the best possible position for its acceptance, delivery and the operational life of the yacht.
